Sr. Helen Prejean and Sr. Elaine Macinnes to Present Inaugural Martin Royackers Lecture at Regis College
Sr. Helen Prejean, C.S.J. will present the inaugural Martin Royackers Lecture entitled "Dead Man Walking: The Journey Continues". An introduction will be made by Fr. Thomas Rosica, C.S.B. Sr. Elaine MacInnes, O.L.M. will join Sr. Prejean to discuss the work of Freeing the Human Spirit and for a question and answer session moderated by Barbara Budd of the CBC. The Martin Royackers Lecture will be held at Regis College at St. Joseph Chapel on Tuesday April 20 at 7:30 pm. No advanced registration is required. Admission is free. Contributions will be welcome.
A workshop on "Freeing the Human Spirit" will follow on Wednesday April 21st from 9:00am to 12:00 pm at Regis College. Workshop Features includes: the documentary film - The Fires that Burn the Heart: The Life and Work of Sr. Elaine MacInnes; "Freeing the Human Spirit: Yoga and Meditation in Prisons in Toronto" - presented by Freeing the Human Spirit; "Set the Captives Free: Human Trafficking in Toronto" - presented by Sr. Celeste Reinhart, SSND. The workshop fee is a prepayment of $20 for Regis College students and $40 for all others. A light breakfast and will be provided.
