Celebrating God's Word: The St. John's Bible at Regis College

Date:
Wed, 2013-10-09 19:00 - 21:00

On Wednesday, October 9th, 2014 at 7:00pm Regis College will celebrate the arrival of the seventh and final volume of the Heritage Edition of the St. John's Bible and the completion of this extraordinary gift to the college by George and Gloria Allen of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Celebrating God's Word - The St. John's Bible at Regis College will feature short presentations by Regis Professors Michael Kolarcik, S.J., Scott Lewis, S.J. and Gordon Rixon, S.J. Each professor will reflect on a unique feature of the St. John's Bible and its use in the educational and faith formation outreach of the college. Rare book conservators and educators Betsy Eldridge and Pearce J. Carefoote will also comment on the project. Before and after the formal program, members of the broader community will join Regis students to turn pages of the volumes for those in attendance.

All are welcome to attend this free event. Special efforts are being made to invite those who have experienced the volumes previously in any of the over eighty public presentations that have shared this beautiful rendering of the Word of God with faith communities accross southern Ontario and beyond.
