Bible and Violence, presented by Father Scott Lewis, S.J.

It is often said that religious texts provoke and sanction violence and that religion itself is inherently violent. Utilizing the insights of psychology, anthropology, cultural criticism, and biblical scholarship we examine the destructive potential of the Old and New Testaments. Attention will be given to pastoral and theological approaches to sensitive biblical passages today

Eight weeks starting Thursday January 19th, 2012 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Cost $175.00

1. Windows on Theology courses are non-credit courses. No record of attendance or payment receipt will be issued.
2. Participation in each course is restricted to registrants only.
3. All onsite course participants will receive a temporary Regis College library card.
4. Cancellation must be requested in writing prior to the course. Only completed forms with full payment will be processed. Confirmation will be emailed to applicants.
5. Regis College reserves the right to cancel or change the course offered.
