Come join us on March 8, 2011 at Regis College as Prof. Michael Stoeber hosts a presentation by Charles Jones as he speaks on his latest paper "The Lord of Heaven or the Great Ultimate? Chinese Responses to the Jesuits’ Proposition of a Primordial Chinese Monotheism". John Meehan, S.J. to respond.

Charles Jones has recently translated a pamphlet called Collected Refutations of Heterodoxy (Pixie ji) by the monk Ouyi Zhixu (1599-1655). In it Zhixu takes on arguments from four different Jesuit works, the most significant of which are Matteo Ricci’s “The True Meaning of the Lord of Heaven” and Giulio Aleni’s “Learned Conversations at Fuzhou.”
