Regis College has played an integral role in my life these past three years. My encounter with the College did not begin with studies; rather, it began out of curiosity. I still remember my first step into the Regis College building in October 2010 when I had an appointment with a Jesuit faculty member for spiritual direction. This was my first step on a journey that I did not know God was inviting me to.
God was calling me to serve, and the Jesuits showed me how. This is why when it became clear that I wanted to do theological studies and it was time to choose a school the answer was quite obvious – Regis College. It was here that I received hospitality when I was new, where I received support and comfort when I was unsure of what I wanted to do, and a place where I had the privilege to study with some of the wisest and most knowledgeable people in the world.
I am on my way to finish my Master in Divinity in the Spring of 2014. With this degree I would like to work in Campus Ministry where I can help students find God and lead them to form an intimate relationship with our Creator. While my studies were an integral part of my formation at Regis College, extracurricular activities, such as student council, socials, and other events hosted by the College, helped make clear how God was calling me to serve. Regis College gave me the practical tools I needed to grow in prayer, and also skills I needed to make connections with people and ecclesial organizations all over Canada.
Studying with the Jesuits has enabled me to see how God acts in and through all things, and so has reinforced within me that desire to find God in all things.
