GENERAL INTEREST AND PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS

To fulfill Ontario Student Opportunity Fund requirements, those awards asterisked as partially funded by OSOTF are restricted in certain years to Canadian citizens who have been resident in Ontario for at least one year. For more information please see: Conditions and Requirements.

ALL GENERAL INTEREST OR PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM STUDENTS

The Alpha Sigma Nu Entrance Scholarship of $1,000 is awarded each year to an entering student who, through her or his programs of study, are believed to have the potential to contribute to the intellectual, social, moral and religious ideals of Jesuit higher education.

The Caroline Marshall Bursary* of $1,000, established in 1997 to honour Mrs. Caroline Marshall on the occasion of her retirement as Registrar of Regis College, is awarded to a deserving student in any Regis degree program.

The Gwen Egan Bursary* of $1,000 is awarded to a deserving student in any Regis degree program.

The Harold and Anne Costello Bursary* of $1,500 is awarded to a deserving student in any Regis degree program.

The Jacques Monet Scholarship* of $2,000, established to honour Jacques Monet, S.J.’s years as resident of Regis College, is awarded annually to a student in any one of the College’s degree programs.

The John Hochban Scholarship* of $1,000 is awarded to a student in a degree program who best demonstrates the community spirit and qualities of personality exemplified by John Hochban, S.J., in his service to Regis College as Rector, Vice-President, and Registrar.

The John V. Prendergast Bursary* of $2,500 is awarded to a deserving student in any Regis degree program.

The Marion McCarthy Bursary* of $2,500 is awarded to a deserving student in any Regis degree program.

The Moira Hughes Bursary* of $1,000, established in 1997 to honour Mrs. Moira Hughes on the occasion of her retirement as Administrative Assistant to the President of Regis College, is awarded to a student in any Regis degree program.

The School Sisters of Notre Dame Bursary* of $2,500, is awarded to a deserving student in any Regis degree program.

The Tuohy Bursary* of $1,500 is awarded to a deserving student in any degree program.

The William Larkin Bursary* of $2,500, established by William Larkin, the architect responsible for the renovation of the Regis College buildings, is awarded to a deserving student in any Regis degree program.

The Adrienne Pereira Bursary* of $2,000 is awarded annually to a 2nd year student who exemplifies the Ignatian spirit in academics and student life in a Regis degree program.

The A. N. Deland Family Scholarship* of $1,500 is provided for a faculty assistant in history, or an assistant to the Canadian Institute for Jesuit Studies and the Jesuit Archives.

The Amanda Dolanjski Scholarship* of $800 is awarded to a deserving student in any Regis degree program.

The John E. Costello Bursary* of $4,000 is awarded to a student who seeks excellence in academic engagement and Ignatian generosity.

The Kuna-Delicaet Scholarship of $2,500, established by Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Delicaet to honor their parents, is awarded for academic excellence to an advanced student, as demonstrated by scholarly achievement and letters of recommendation. 

The Leonard G Delicaet Scholarship* of $2,250 is awarded to a deserving student in any Regis degree program.

The Jean-Marc Laporte Graduate Scholarship* of $2,500, established to honor the presidency of Jean-Marc Laporte, S.J., is awarded annually to a research program student at Regis College on the basis of academic competence and the merit of his/her research proposal.

The Joseph Plevnik Bursary* of $1,500 is awarded to a deserving student in any Regis degree program.

The Gordon A. Rixon Bursary* of $3,000 is awarded to a Regis College student preparing to engage in public leadership in church and society. 

The George Schner Award* of $2,000 is awraded to a deserving student in any Regis degree program.

The D. Stanley Bursary* of $500, established to honor a former professor of New Testament studies at Regis College, is awarded annually to a research program student in biblical studies.

The Carl and Hertha Starkloff Bursary* of $2,000, established by family donors to honour the parents of Fr. Carl Starkloff, S.J., is awarded to a deserving Research program student.

FEMALE STUDENT

The Reverend Mother Ignatia Campbell Bursary* of $4,000 is awarded to a deserving female student in any degree program.

The R.A.F. MacKenzie Bursary of $1,500, is awarded to a deserving Catholic woman in any Regis degree program.

The Walter and Mary Tuohy Fund* of $3,000 is awarded to a lay female student in any degree program.

INTEGRTION FOR MINISTRY PROGRAM (D.S.D., D.S.T., D.T.S.)

The Sr. Cathleen Flynn, C.S.J. Awards* (5) of $1,500 each are awarded to students entering Integration for Ministry diploma programs (D.S.D., D.S.T., D.T.S.) or the M.A. in M.S. program for full-time studies beginning in September 2008. Successful applicants may reapply for one additional year of support. Part-time applicants may also apply and may share the award with another recipient. One or more of these awards may be restricted to Canadian citizens who have been residents of Ontario for at least one year.

The Mary Therese Gervais Award* of $2,000 is awarded to a student in the Integration for Ministry/Diploma in Spiritual Direction Program.

LAY STUDENT

The Canadian Conventual Franciscan Friars Bursary* of $2,500 is awarded to a deserving lay student in any Regis degree program.

The Dr. Peter and Barbara Peloso Bursary* of $2,500 is awarded to a deserving lay student in any Regis degree program.

The Edward F. Sheridan Bursary*; Frederick E. Crowe Bursary*; Gerald W. Tait Bursary*: each award of $2,500 is awarded to a deserving lay student in any Regis degree program. These bursaries were established by the Jesuit Fathers of Upper Canada and by various Canadian Jesuit Communities.

The Helen Poole Clair Award of $1,500, established to honour Mrs. Helen Poole Clair, first lay graduate of Regis College, is awarded to a needy lay student in any Regis degree program.

MASTER OF ARTS IN MINISTRY AND SPIRITUALITY (M.A. in M.S.)

MASTER OF DIVINITY (M.DIV.)

The Cecil Ryan Memorial Bursary* of $1,000 is awarded to a deserving student in the Master of Divinity Program.

PRIESTHOOD

The Anne M. Kuna-Delicaet Scholarship* of $2,000, established by Mr. Leonard Delicaet to honour his wife Anne on the occasion of their 30th wedding anniversary, is awarded to a Jesuit student with scholarly promise.

The Jean Annette V. Desroches Scholarship* of $1,000 is awarded to a deserving candidate for the priesthood.

The Genevieve Khoury Scholarship of $4,000 supports the training of a Jesuit for the priesthood.

The Marcella McGowan Scholarship of $2,500, established by the late Marcella McGowan, is awarded to a Regis College candidate for the priesthood.

The Pedro Arrupe Fund is an endowment given by the Regis College Jesuit Community in memory of the twenty-eighth Jesuit Superior General. Awarded by the Rector of the Jesuit Community, it provides assistance to Jesuit students from abroad.

The Jesuit Fathers of Lourdes Award* of $1,000 is awarded to a Regis College student who contributes to the parish in pastoral or theological ministry.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN

The Light for Children Bursary of $1,000, established anonymously, is granted to a student in any degree program who will work with children.
