Jesus the Homeless Transformative Education Series: 2014 Royackers Lecture - Homelessness, Housing and Hope in Toronto

Dr. Stephen Hwang from the Centre for Research on Inner City Health in the Keenan Research Centre of the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael's Hospital will present the Spring 2014 Royackers Lecture at Regis College on Wednesday, April 2 at 7:30 pm.

Dr. Hwang will speak on "Homelessness, Housing and Hope." A panel discussion will follow.

Dr. Hwang's research focuses on improving the health of people who are homeless or vulnerably housed and deepening understanding of housing as a social determinant of health. He is a scientist at the Centre for Research on Inner City Health in the Keenan Research Centre of the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael's Hospital and Director, Division of General Internal Medicine, University of Toronto.

This event is free. All are welcome. Lecture takes place in St. Joseph Chapel, Regis College. A candle light vigil will follow the presentation and panel discussion.

Regis College is located at 100 Wellesley Street West, Toronto, near the corner of Queen's Park Crescent East. Regis College is on the 94 Wellesley bus route and a short walk (south) from the Museum subway station. Public parking is available in the University of St. Michael's College parking lot on St. Joseph Street, one block north of Regis College. The venue is accessible.

Members of the public interested in theological education are invited to attend an open house in October and March each year.

The Royackers Lecture honours the memory of Father Martin Royackers, S.J., a Canadian Jesuit who was murdered in 2001 as he served the people of Annotto Bay, Jamaica and promoted the cause of social justice. The lecture is made possible through the benefaction of Mundiregina Resources Canada.
