The AD seminars are an opportunity for AD students to engage with one another and faculty in a discussion on an aspect of their work. A student prepares a paper which is available a week before the seminar. On the day, the student presents his/her paper for approximately 20 minutes. This is followed by two 10 minute responses: one from another AD student and one from a faculty member. Following this, there is a general discussion. The seminar concludes with light refreshments. All AD students are invited to and strongly recommended to attend these seminars. The following is a comment from a student who presented a paper.
"The Seminar allowed me to present my thoughts to professors and advanced degree students at Regis College. A professor of Scripture and an advanced degree student formally responded to my presentation, and other professors and students then entered the conversation. It was a wonderful experience for me. I felt affirmed in my decision to further develop this work. I was given insights on the theme, and I encountered questions that have challenged me to do exploration in a wider field than I had first considered. All of this has enhanced my readiness to begin my thesis proposal." [Sr. Elizabeth Davis, R.S.M., Th.D. candidate.]
