Sarah Crawford, Vice President, Public Affairs, at CHUM, is a passionate advocate for social justice issues, diversity, and media literacy, and has spoken widely on these subjects. Extremely active within the broadcasting industry, she recently chaired the CAB’s JSIC Subcommittee on the Presence, Portrayal and Participation of People with Disabilities in Television Programming. She has received a Gold Medal for her work in the areas of diversity and equality from the Human Rights and Race Relations Council, and the CAMEO award for outstanding contribution to the development of medical education in Canada. In March 2006, Sarah was recognized by Canadian Women In Communications with the “2005 Woman of the Year” award, the organization’s highest honour.
